Meet Mr. Magnum

Good music matters. Knowing what to do with it matters more.

I’m Mr. Magnum, the DJ and MC behind Mr. Magnum Music. I bring Caribbean roots, open-format range, and a calm, prepared approach to weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, clubs, and public events across the Triangle and beyond.

The point of view

The playlist is not the product. The experience in the room is.

I’ve spent years learning what makes a room move—from radio and nightlife to weddings and live events. The setting changes, but the job stays personal: understand who is there, know what the moment calls for, and choose music that brings people into it.

Caribbean music is a real part of how I hear a crowd. So are hip-hop, R&B, pop, throwbacks, and the records that mean something to your family, friends, or community. That range lets me move between cultures, generations, and moods without making the night feel like a random playlist.

Before the event, we talk through the people, music, names, key moments, venue, and flow. Once the room fills up, I use that plan as a foundation—not a script I’m afraid to leave.

What shapes the work

Range, roots, and details handled with care.

Open-format range

Different rooms call for different music. Range gives me options; reading the room keeps the set connected.

Caribbean roots

Dancehall, soca, reggae, and the wider Caribbean sound are part of how I hear music—not a box your event has to fit into.

Details handled with care

Names, timing, key songs, venue coordination, and microphone moments deserve the same attention as the dance floor.

How I work

Prepared before the first song. Present for everything after it.

  • Listen first. Tell me who is coming, what matters, and what you never want the night to become.
  • Plan the important moments. We’ll line up the music, names, announcements, and event flow that need to be right.
  • Read the room. A plan gives us direction. The people in front of the speakers decide where the music goes next.
