Good questions make better events
A few things worth knowing.
Here are the questions I hear most about music, MC support, setup, pricing, and booking. If your event needs something different, tell me about it.
Services & approach
What working together looks like.
What kinds of events do you DJ?
I work weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, clubs, festivals, and selected public events. Each one is scoped differently, so start by sharing the date, location, guest count, and what you want the room to feel like.
Are you both the DJ and MC?
I provide DJ and MC support at the level we agree for your event—from key introductions to more involved hosting. We’ll talk through that before booking.
Do you plan the whole event?
No. I help with the music, announcements, and entertainment flow, and I coordinate those pieces with you, your planner, venue, and vendors. Full event planning, décor, catering, and overall production stay with the appropriate event team.
Do you provide sound and lighting?
Sound and lighting can be included depending on the event, venue, guest count, and number of spaces. Tell me what the venue provides and what you need; I’ll recommend the right setup or identify anything that requires a production partner.
Music & preparation
Your priorities, then I read the room.
What kind of music do you play?
My style is open-format with strong Caribbean roots. Depending on the event and the people in the room, that can include dancehall, soca, reggae, hip-hop, R&B, pop, Afrobeats, throwbacks, and more. The goal is not to check genre boxes—it’s to make the music feel connected.
Can we choose the music?
Absolutely. Share your meaningful songs, a few must-plays, and anything you don’t want to hear. I’ll use those priorities and read the room as the event unfolds.
Do we have to build every playlist?
No. Pick the parts you enjoy choosing and leave the rest with me. We can use your existing playlists or set up shared ones, then confirm the exact songs and cues for special moments.
What about guest requests?
We’ll agree on how you want requests handled. Your music preferences and do-not-play list come first.
Availability & booking
Start with the event details.
Where do you work?
The Triangle—Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas—is my home market, and I consider regional travel. Send the venue or city with your inquiry so I can confirm availability, logistics, and any travel costs.
How much does it cost to book you?
Your quote depends on the coverage, venue, spaces, and sound or lighting needs. Send a few details and I’ll explain the options for your event.
What happens after I check availability?
I’ll review your date and event details. If it looks like a potential fit, we’ll have a short conversation about the music, flow, and what the event needs before I prepare a proposal.
Does sending an inquiry reserve my date?
An inquiry doesn’t reserve your date. I’ll confirm availability and explain the agreement and payment steps in your proposal.
Let’s make it a night to remember
Tell me what you’re planning.
Share your date or timeframe, location, and event type. I’ll review the details and follow up with the next step.
